Zachary, LA – Police Officer Dies In Wreck At Port Hudson-Pride Rd & Pin Oak Ln

Zachary, LA (May 30, 2019) – A well known and respected police officer in Baton Rouge has passed as the result of a car accident. The car wreck in question happened in Zachary at the intersection of Port Hudson-Pride Rd. and Pin Oak Ln. The time of the accident was at 6:30 a.m. The incident took place in the early morning hours of Friday, May 30th.

The officer who lost his life in this wreck has been identified as Steven Whitstine. The crash occurred as the officer was driving to work that day. The officer’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a bridge, before finally overturning in the nearby canal.

It is not known by officials why the driver’s vehicle left the roadway.

The case involving the accident is still developing, and more information will be made public as it continues.
