August 28, 2019 St Martin Parish, LA – UPDATE: Victim Of Deadly Wreck On Basin Bridge Identified St Martin Parish, LA (August 27, 2019) – Louisiana State Police (LSP) have identified the victim who was killed in a deadly multi-vehicle car wreck on I-10 at Basin Bridge. LSP was at the scene of the accident around 2 p.m. The accident took place on Monday, August 26, four miles east of Butte La Rose. The deceased victim has been identified as 31-year-old Christopher McGee of Youngstown, FL. Officials claim that the accident was a chain reaction that started from a single-vehicle accident. The crash involved three 18-wheelers and several passenger cars. McGee was driving a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer which caught fire. McGee’s body was found by authorities after the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Numerous other parties had reported injuries. An investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing.
