St. Martin, LA – Woman Identified After Fatal Crash on LA HWY 96

St. Martin, LA (June 12, 2019) – Louisiana State Police have been investigating a serious fatal crash that took place on LA Hwy 96 and have since identified the party who lost her life.

The accident, according to police, took place on Tuesday, June 11 around 6:00 p.m. Police have been investigating, where they found that 29-year-old McKenzie J. Fontenette of St. Martinville was traveling east on the highway. Suddenly, her vehicle veered from the road and struck a tree with great force.

According to authorities, Fontenette was severely injured and tragically died at the scene of the accident.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash at this time.
