June 20, 2019 St. Landry, LA – Two Killed in Plane Crash on Spillway Road St. Landry, LA (June 19, 2019) – Police confirmed that two men were killed in a plane crash that took place on Spillway Road in St. Landry on Wednesday. The two men have since been identified as 49-year-old Kirk Bellard and 38-year-old Marcus Guidry, his passenger. They were the only two people in the plane at the time of the crash. The plane crashed around 12:15 p.m. for unknown circumstances at the Atchafalaya Basin. The incident took place on Spillway Road just north of Henderson. When police and other responders arrived, they found the plane lying in the middle of the gravel road. FAA investigators have since taken a closer look at the scene and they, along with the National Transportation Safety Board, will be conducting an investigation into the accident.
