June 16, 2019 Port Allen, LA – Man Killed in ATV Wreck on LA-76 Port Allen, LA (June 15, 2019) – Officials are investigating a wreck that took the life of a man on LA-76 on Saturday, June 15th. The crash happened in the afternoon, and law enforcement found the body around 2 p.m. The name of the deceased is James D. Major Jr., 61-year-old, of Baton Rouge. The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that Major’s body was found on LA-76 near Cash’s Truck Plaza. Authorities believe that the ATV was Major’s primary motive of transportation. The reason for the crash is not yet known, but officials think that a truck may have dropped sand on the roadway, causing Major’s vehicle to overturn.
