New Orleans, LA – Teen Shot and 2 Others Injured in Wreck on Chef Menteur Hwy

New Orleans, LA (June 3, 2019) – Reports by the New Orleans Police Department indicate that a teenage driver was shot while driving on Chef Menteur Hwy, which resulted in a car wreck that injured two passengers. The accident took place on Wednesday, May 29^th, early in the morning, on Chef Menteur Highway, near the area of Pines Village.

The shooting happened at 1:55 a.m. at 6200 Chef Menteur Hwy.

The driver was shot three times in the stomach by a car that had pulled up alongside them as they drove down the roadway. The gunshots wounds caused the teenage driver to lose control of the car and crash the vehicle, injuring him and his two passengers, a 16-year-old boy and a woman of unknown age.

The driver was transported to a local hospital and taken into surgery, where he remains in critical condition. The current medical condition of the other passengers is not known at this time.

The vehicle that fired at the car left the scene. An active investigation is ongoing.
