New Iberia, LA – Deadly Pedestrian Wreck on Hwy 90 E at Darnall Rd

New Iberia, LA (June 15, 2019) – Louisiana State Police were at the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash that happened on Hwy 90 E. near Darnall Rd. Officials arrived in the evening at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th.

47-year-old Ken Delahoussaye of New Iberia was struck by a car while walking on the Hwy 90 E. Frontage Rd. attempting to help another driver who had been involved in an accident.

Delahoussaye was struck by a 2015 Kia Optima traveling west driven by 26-year-old Jerry Reaux. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.

Toxicology samples were taken at the scene, but impairment is not believed to have been a factor for either involved party.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
