Metairie, LA – Pedestrian Killed By Drunk Driver At Severn Ave & Airline Dr

Metairie, LA (May 30, 2019) – Sources have confirmed a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred earlier in the week. The accident took place at the intersection of Airline Dr. (Hwy 61) & Severn Ave. just before 9 pm on Monday, May 27th.

Police believe that both the victim and the driver of the car may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.  The victim, identified as 67-year-old Ricky Lee, was walking alongside the roadway when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the time of the accident. The driver has been identified as Khalil Brice of Natchez.

Lee was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and officials who had come to render aid.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, and more information will likely be released as it goes on.
