Merryville, LA – Semi-Truck Driver Killed After Wreck on US-190 at Libbick Rd

Merryville, LA (June 16, 2019) – Louisiana State Police have reported a fatal wreck involving a semi-truck off US-190 near the intersection with Libbick Rd. The accident happened on Friday, June 14th.

Officials state that the accident resulted in the death of the driver, 60-year-old Richard Dewayne Ziesemer.

He was traveling eastbound on US-190. Police officials found Ziesemer’s body in his vehicle, a 2020 Kenworth 18 wheeler. He collided with a number of trees before the vehicle came to a stop.

It is unknown at this time what caused the driver to veer off the roadway, and the accident is still under investigation.
