July 19, 2019 Marrero, LA – Police Officer Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash On Warwick Dr. And LA-45 Marrero, LA (July 18, 2019) – Local authorities released a report confirming that a police officer had been involved in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred early this morning, July 18th. Based on the initial release from State Police, at some time around 2:00 AM, the officer had paused a Louisiana State Police Crown Victoria (with activated lights) in a construction site along LA-45. Simultaneously, 21-year-old Ashley D. Munoz-Delarosa, of Marrero, had been driving a 2019 Toyota Camry along the same route. Subsequently, the civilian motorist had ignored the construction signals, including road flares, and crashed into the LSP vehicle’s passenger section. After the wreck, emergency personnel brought the police officer and Munoz-Delarosa to a local medical center for treatment. Both people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident. Police confirmed that Munoz-Delarosa had not been wearing a seatbelt and have suspected that intoxication was a potential factor behind the wreck.
