June 1, 2019 Lake Charles, LA – DUI Driver Arrested For Hit & Run Crash On S. Huntington St Lake Charles, LA (June 1, 2019) – The Sulphur Police Department has reported that a man from Houma has been taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence as well as being involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in injuries. The wreck itself happened earlier in the week on Sunday, May 26th. Officials were alerted to a collision in the evening at 8:58 p.m. The hit-and-run took place at the intersection of South Huntington Street and Cypress Street. Authorities reported that a car operated by Anfernee Flores collided with the rear of another vehicle who was stopped at a traffic signal. Flores allegedly struck additional vehicles in the intersection while he was attempting to leave the scene. Flores fled the vehicle and was pursued by officials on foot. At least one person was injured in this incident and required medical attention. Flores was taken into custody for many different charges. The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
