Lafayette Parish, LA – 2 Semi-Trucks Collide Along I-10 Near I-49 & Louisiana Ave.

Lafayette Parish, LA (June 20, 2019) – A local news source confirmed that an accident involving two 18-wheeler semi-trucks took place along Interstate-10 EB in the vicinity of Interstate 49 & Louisiana Avenue at some time around 7:09 PM this morning, June 20, 2019.

Based on the initial reports, two 18-wheeler trucks were traveling down I-10 when, for undetermined reasons, the vehicles collided near Louisiana Avenue. For approximately two hours following the impact, emergency crews shut down the roadway for initial cleanup, before reopening lanes of traffic to the public.

Authorities confirmed the people involved in the accident sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, police are no longer diverting local traffic.
