Lafayette, LA – Pedestrian Accident With Critical Injuries On Johnston Street

Lafayette, LA (August 28, 2019) – Yesterday around 7:30 p.m., August 27, Lafayette Police responded to the scene of a serious pedestrian accident that led to critical injuries.

The accident took place at 4500 Johnston Street. At the time, police say that a 49-year-old male attempted crossing the street when he was suddenly struck by the driver of a Nissan Frontier. The pedestrian and driver have not yet been identified.

Police have confirmed that the pedestrian was immediately transported to the hospital and has since been listed in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was tested and was found not to be intoxicated at the time. They have not been charged with a crime. The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation at this time.
