August 4, 2019 Lacombe, LA – Motorcyclist Killed In Wreck At US-190 & Tranquility Rd Lacombe, LA (August 3, 2019) – There was a fatal motorcycle accident reported in St. Tammany Parish on Friday, August 2nd, near 7:25 p.m. The wreck took place at the intersection of US-190 and Tranquility Rd. in Lacombe. Initial reports from the Louisiana State Police identified the deceased as 22-year-old Cody Michael Doucette of Slidell. Doucette was traveling east on US-190 on a 2007 Suzuki GSX. He was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed. 59-year-old Richard Mathews was driving a 2000 Ford F-150 that was stopped at a stop sign at Tranquility Rd. and US-190. Matthews entered the highway, directly into the path of Doucette. The motorcycle crashed into the right side of the Ford, causing the rider to be ejected from the bike. Doucette sustained fatal injuries despite wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Responding paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Matthews was uninjured in the collision. It is not suspected that impairment was a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending. Matthews willingly offered a breath sample and was issued a citation for Failure to Yield.
