October 10, 2017 Same Intersection, Another Pedestrian Hit Same Intersection, Another Pedestrian Hit Pedestrian suffers severe leg injuries after getting hit by vehicle One of the few bad parts of my job is seeing the same things happen at the same place over and over. Such is the case with Hwy. 1 in and around Plaquemine and pedestrian injuries. We have at least 3 one ring cases involving pedestrians hit by cars in that area. Sadly, we currently represent one young pedestrian whose leg was ripped from her body as she was hit by a car on LA 1 just south of LA 75. Our client was crossing at an intersection as allowed by law in area without a marked crosswalk for miles. Today, Tuesday, the same thing happened to another pedestrian in the same location. The details, as reported below, are: PLAQUEMINE, LAA pedestrian was taken to the hospital with severe injuries after getting hit by a vehicle in Plaquemine. The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office said it happened on LA 1 just south of LA 75 in Plaquemine just around 9 a.m. The IPSO said the victim suffered severe leg injuries and was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge for treatment and the Louisiana State Police Police reported the victim is listed in critical condition.The crash remains under investigation. Until then, we will continue to push our cases through the judicial system.
