Denham Springs, LA – Motorcyclist Killed in Wreck with Deputy on Lockhart Rd near Cockerham Rd

Denham Springs, LA (June 30, 2019) – A motorcyclist has been confirmed dead after being involved in a collision with an on-duty deputy on Lockhart Road at Cockerham Road. The crash happened in the early morning on Saturday, June 29^th, sometime after midnight. 

It was confirmed that 44-year-old Jason Vidrine died in the crash. Vidrine and another motorcyclist were seen to be speeding on LA-64 by an on-duty trooper. Vidrine and the other rider fled eastbound on the highway.

Vidrine then crossed LA-16 and parted from the other motorcyclist, entering the roundabout on Lockhart Rd. After circling the roundabout, Vidrine was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by an on-duty sheriff’s deputy of the Livingston Parish.

Virdine was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.

Louisiana State Police are currently investigating the collision.
