Convent, LA – 2 Vehicle Crash Kills Man on LA-44 at LA-70

Convent, LA (June 16, 2019) – Sources report that a collision involving two vehicles took the life of a man on Saturday, June 15th. The wreck happened near the intersection of LA-44 and LA-77 at around 5 p.m.

Louisiana state police confirm that 41-year-old Victor Ingraham died in the collision. The victim was traveling south on LA-44 in a 2007 Honda Accord when he attempted to overtake another vehicle in a no-passing zone. This caused Ingraham to lose control of his vehicle after running off the highway. He rotated into the oncoming lane where he hit John Chauvin, 44-year-old, on the passenger side of his vehicle, a 2012 Ford F-150.

Ingraham was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident died on impact.

Chauvin was properly restrained and only sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

The investigation is still ongoing into the crash.
