July 15, 2019 Claiborne Parish, LA – Update: Identities Of Victims In Deadly Crash On US-79 Revealed Claiborne Parish, LA (July 14, 2019) – The identities of the victims involved in a deadly crash on Sunday, July 14th, have been revealed by local authorities. Two vehicles were involved in a collision on US-79 and Sanders Rd in Claiborne Parish, near Homer. The accident happened Sunday morning shortly after 11:00 a.m. The two deceased victims were identified as 33-year-old Charles Pitts and 37-year-old Quentin Willis. Both of the men were residents of Haynesville. Pitts and Willis were both occupants of a 1998 Maza Protege traveling on US-79 when a 2009 Volvo passenger vehicle crossed the center line, colliding head-on with the Mazda. The Volvo was driven by 31-year-old Joncee Whited, of Texarkana. Both Pitts and Willis sustained fatal injuries despite being properly restrained during the accident. Whited was transported to Ochsner LSU Health with critical injuries. An infant who was the passenger in Whited’s vehicle was properly restrained and unharmed.
