Baton Rouge, LA – Woman in Custody for Involvement in DWI Crash on Old Hammond Hwy

Baton Rouge, LA (June 22, 2019) – The Baton Rouge Police Department has taken a suspect into custody for their alleged involvement in a DWI related car wreck. The woman, 47-year-old Heidi Haylock, was arrested in the parking lot of a Racetrack gas station on Old Hammond Hwy. A witness to the collisions was able to draw Haylock off the roadway, allowing for authorities to take her into custody.

The same witness states that Haylock was seen swerving along Old Hammond Hwy, striking other vehicles and injuring involved occupants. The wrecks took place in the late evening on Friday, June 21st.

Haylock performed poorly on sobriety tests, admitting to taking medications before operating her vehicle, and was found to have unprescribed drugs on her person after being taken into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

The crash and Haylock’s involvement is still under investigation at this time.
