June 26, 2019 Abbeville, LA – Serious Hit-and-Run Crash at LA-14 and Alphonse Street Abbeville, LA (June 26, 2019) – The Abbeville Police Department arrived at the scene of a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of LA Highway 14 and Alphonse Street in Abbeville. The accident took place yesterday, June 25th, around 9:17 p.m., when police were dispatched to the intersection to find that a truck and a motorcycle collided with one another. The truck fled the scene after the accident. At the time, police found that a truck had exited the Sonic parking lot and crossed over all lanes of traffic when it struck the motorcycle and then promptly fled the scene. He was located at his residence, where police found damages on his truck that he had attempted to repair. Wimbly was booked on charges of hit-and-run and issued a citation for failing to yield.
