Lafayette, LA – Traffic Accident Occurs On North US-71 & LA-28

Lafayette, LA (August 8, 2019) – On northbound US-71 this morning, August 8^th, a traffic accident occurred causing injuries to at least one of the parties involved.

The wreck took place at the junction of north US-71 and LA-28 around 11:34 a.m. After the crash, fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene of the accident to render aid to the victims and clear the wreckage.

Authorities have confirmed that the accident blocked the right lane on US-71, causing a traffic jam for at least two miles.

Further details surrounding the accident have not yet been released. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
