August 22, 2019 Richwood, LA – Man Killed in Bicycle Accident at Langford Drive Richwood, LA (August 21, 2019) – Police have confirmed that a man from Monroe was killed in a bicycle accident involving a hit-and-run driver at a Richwood intersection. The accident took place around midnight, August 21. Police said that 41-year-old Stanquan Young was riding along on his bicycle when he crossed into the intersection of US-165 and Langford Drive and was struck by a vehicle. Young was immediately ejected from his bicycle after being hit with force and suffered severe trauma. Police say that he was thrown into the median of the highway. He was immediately taken to the St. Francis Medical Center by paramedics. After arriving at the hospital Young tragically passed away. After following leads, police were able to determine that 38-year-old Taurus Bray was the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed Young. Louisiana State Police have arrested Bray and charged him with hit-and-run driving and failing to report a crash. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
