St. James Parish, LA – UPDATE:Driver Dies In Traffic Accident On LA 70 Near LA 3125

St. James Parish, LA (July 5, 2019) – A deadly traffic accident occurred along Highway 70 in the St. James Parish area early this morning, July 5^th.  Both sides of LA 70 were closed to process the accident scene.

The deadly crash piled up both eastbound and westbound LA 70 in the vicinity of Highways 3125. Traffic did not start moving in either direction until around 1:30 in the afternoon.

The driver of the first vehicle, 50-year-old Daren Taylor, crossed over the median and crashed head-on to an oncoming 18-wheeler.  A car behind the 18-wheeler swerved to avoid the accident and hit a concrete culvert.

Taylor died due to injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the 18-wheeler and the other vehicle involved only suffered minor injuries, as they were both properly wearing their seatbelts.
