Another Pedestrian Killed by Car

Baton Rouge is not a pedestrian friendly city.  It does not accommodate pedestrians with sidewalks, crosswalks, cross signals or wide shoulders.  The result is among the highest rates in the United States of cars striking pedestrians.  And the pedestrians always loses.

Another Baton Rouge pedestrian has been killed by a car. https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/crime_police/article_f6a76a5e-7ce6-11e8-b7dd-9b76b8e6cc67.html The most recent fatality is strikingly similar to a one that happened in Plaquemine about a year ago.  We succesfully represented the pedestrian in the Plaquemine case and many others. The lesson we have learned is that Baton Rouge motorist must do better.

Motorist should know that a pedestrian can legally cross any Louisiana roadway (except an interstate highway) at any location.  The pedestrian is not required to use a cross walk or an intersection.  Be on the lookout for pedestrians.  Allow the pedestrian the space to safely cross the road.  Always drive defensively.  https://www.fisherinjurylawyers.com
